Specialized Testing

At Urgent Eyecare, our optometrist provides specialized testing to ensure highly accurate diagnosis of vision-related issues. These specialized tests are highly accurate diagnostic tools specific to optometrists that allow us to quickly and accurately diagnose issues that may be affecting your vision. Our optometry team is trained in the use of these tools, so you can trust that you’re in good hands.

Here at Urgent Eyecare, these state of the art machines are all included in the $300.00 flat fee. We will not up charge you and tack on fees for all of these tests like a traditional ER or Urgent Care centers. Our goal is to get you the help you need in the most efficient, specialized and evidenced based way. Access to these diagnostic tools help to ensure an accurate and comprehensive diagnosis the first time.

Optomap

At our clinic, we use Optomap Retinal Imaging to help diagnose and monitor a variety of eye conditions. This state-of-the-art technology provides an ultra-widefield digital image of the retina, allowing our optometrist to quickly and accurately detect any abnormalities or disease. With Optomap, we can provide our patients with the best possible care and a comprehensive eye health assessment.

Visual Field

Visual Field testing is a non invasive process that involves looking into a machine and identifying different lights patterns throughout different areas of your vision. This test evaluates peripheral vision and helps detect vision loss due to glaucoma, stroke, and other neurological issues and emergencies. Our experienced and knowledgeable optometrists use state-of-the-art technology to accurately assess your visual field and provide you with the most comprehensive care.

OCT

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of the retina. Our optometrists use this advanced technology to provide high resolution images of the layers of the retina, helping to detect any eye health issues early and provide the most effective treatment.

Topography Mapping

Topography is an eye test to measure the curvature of the eye's surface. This helps to diagnose and monitor eye conditions such as astigmatism, keratoconus, and painful corneal aberrations. Our topography technology provides detailed, accurate data that ensures the best possible vision care great for both routine and emergency eyecare.

Pachymeter

Corneal pachymetry is a service offered by optometrists which measures the thickness of the cornea. This is useful for detecting corneal edema, which is the swelling of the cornea due to an accumulation of fluid. Optometrists use corneal pachymetry to ensure the health of the cornea and to diagnose a range of eye diseases.

Tonometry (Eye Pressure Testing)

Tonometry is a service provided by optometrists to measure intraocular pressure, or the pressure inside the eye. It is used to detect glaucoma, a condition caused by high inter ocular eye pressures, which can be due to a number of factors, such as hypertension, or failure of fluid drainage from the eye. Tonometry is an essential tool in diagnosing and managing this serious eye condition.
